Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 3, 2026
At Riff Desktop ("we", "our", or "us"), we value your privacy above all else. This Privacy Policy describes how your information is handled when you use the Riff desktop application.
1. Data Collection
Use of Riff is primarily local. We do not collect, store, or share your personal data, listening habits, or library content on our servers. Riff functions as a client-side application.
- Local Data: Your playlists, settings, and downloaded tracks are stored locally on your device.
- Spotify API: To provide metadata, the application communicates directly with Spotify's API. This interaction is subject to Spotify's privacy policy.
2. Third-Party Services
Riff utilizes third-party services to function:
- Spotify: Used for fetching metadata, album art, and track information.
- YouTube/yt-dlp: Used for the underlying audio streams for downloads.
We do not operate the servers for these providers and have no control over their data collection practices.
3. Analytics and Tracking
Riff contains zero analytics, tracking scripts, or telemetry. We do not track how you use the app, what you listen to, or your IP address.
4. Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
5. Contact Us
